FAQ
There are seven main TAMITOS characters and, with them, the two sisters Ela and Lumi. Each character embodies a common sensory trait or emotion linked to autism, so children can name and understand big feelings.
Each TAMITOS character represents a sensory trait or emotion from the autism spectrum, such as anger, sadness, sensitivity to sound, avoiding touch, emotional withdrawal or intense focus, and helps children feel understood and accepted.
Ela and Lumi are the two sisters at the heart of the TAMITOS story. Ela is energetic and full of ideas, Lumi takes in the world in her own way, gently and sensitively, and together they show children how understanding turns differences into friendship.
The world of TAMITOS is made up of seven main characters and two sisters, Ela and Lumi. Each character embodies one feeling or sensory trait linked to autism: anger, sadness, sensitivity to sound, avoiding touch, emotional withdrawal or intense focus. That gives children a „face" for feelings that are otherwise hard to name.
When a feeling has a name and a shape, it stops being scary. A child can say „right now I feel like…" instead of being flooded by the feeling. The characters help with recognising emotions, with self regulation and with conversations about being different, at home, in nursery and in the classroom.
Ela is energetic and full of ideas, Lumi takes in the world in her own way, gently and sensitively. Together they show children how understanding turns differences into friendship. They are the heart of the story that the whole world of TAMITOS is built around.
